This is a sort of response to D!cks "TV versus the written word" article
in Word 17 (which should have really been called "Cellulose versus the
written word", but there you go).
When I read Jurassic Park I kept thinking "Wow, this has got to look
absolutely amazing in film" And it did, only the book had a lot more
plot. Well, at least they remembered the dinosaur bits, anyway.
Seven, the book, is a LOT more understandable than the film. I found
the films plot was only just kept together on a thread. It was loose as
a castrated whales foreskin (sorry for the analogy, but I can`t think of
a better one at the moment!) If you`ve gone to see the film, it may be
too late for you to read the book. Try it anyhow, as it`s a damn fine
read with good pace.
Er, oh that`s it. I only read Laymon and Pratchett books these days.
Oh, and Wyrd Sisters was so boring... you had to make a real effort to
catch any of the jokes. You`d raelly be better off reading the book.
Ho-hum.
kenco/carnage.
